Wedding vows #1
We are gathered on this special day with this couple as they say: I take thee to be my partner in life to love and live with as husband and wife. To love and cherish forever in better or worse, to stand by your side. The relationship of husband and wife is most sacred when it is that of two souls with a single thought… two hearts that beat as one. It is the blending of two lives, the union of two natures. A marriage is a promise that two hearts gladly make, a promise to be tender and loving, to be kind and understanding, to be thoughtful, considerate, and fair. A marriage is a promise to share one life together. A love filled promise meant to be kept lovingly forever. (groom) ____________________, you are about to take upon yourself a solemn vow. The woman of your choice is now to become the partner of your life, the holder of your possessions. In no other way could she so manifest her love for you as to share with you the joy and sorrow of life. (bride) _____________________, he whom you are about to wed will look to you in the hour of trial. Your smile should be the brightest part of his day, your voice his sweetest music, your lips his faithful counselor.
Do you (groom) ______________________, take (bride) ___________________ whose hand you hold to be your lawful wedded wife; do you pledge your love forsaking all others in sickness and in health, for better or worse? If so, answer, I do.
Do you (bride) ______________________, take (groom) ___________________ whose hand you hold to be your lawful wedded husband; do you pledge your love forsaking all others in sickness and in health, for better or worse? If so, answer, I do.
You will now have these vows sealed by giving and receiving of rings. The ring is a symbol and reminder of the promises made by the married couple to one another. With this ring you do now and forever seal these marriage vows.
(groom) _________________, will you now take your bride’s left hand and place the ring upon her finger and repeat after me, (bride) _________________, with this ring…. I thee wed…. with all my hearts affections…. I pledge myself…. and all that I am…. in love to you
(bride) _________________, will you now take (groom) __________________ left hand and as you place the ring upon his finger repeat after me. (groom) ______________ with this ring…. I thee wed…. with all my hearts affections…. I pledge myself…. and all that I am…. in love to you.
Now having pledged your love and loyalty to each other and having sealed the pledge with a ring … I do by the authority vested in me, conforming with the laws of the State of Arizona pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.

Unity Sand Ceremony:

"Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand, one representing you BRIDE and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, GROOM, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be."
If children are involved; “(Children’s name/s) your mother (and/or father) and (name) love you very much, and want you to know that you are and will always be a very important part of their lives. Will you please pour some sand into this glass container along with your good wishes? That would mean so much to them." (Parents then hug and kiss their children!)
Unity Candle Ceremony

"___________________ and ________________ the two lighted candles symbolize your separate lives, your separate families and your separate sets of friends. I ask that you each take one candle and that together you light the center candle. The individual candles represent your individual lives before today. Lighting the center candle represents that your two lives are now joined to one light, and represents the joining together of your two families and sets of friends to one."
If Children Are Involved "The lighting of the center candle represents not only the union of ____________ and ___________ in marriage, but the unity formed in this new family in which your lives will now shine as one family.
Verse1 (1 Corinthians 13) Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous:
love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own....but rejoices with the truth.
Now having pledged your love and loyalty to each other and having sealed the pledge with a ring … I do by the authority vested in me, conforming with the laws of the State of Arizona pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.

Word of welcome
Welcome Family and Friends.
Regardless of the wonderful and loving relationship that ______and ________ have shared to this day, today, that relationship changes. All of us know it will grow, and become stronger and better.
Indeed, during these exciting times, this day is a day of hope; a day in which ______and ________demonstrate their faith and love in one another.
Reading
I would now like to read a passage that I believe expresses the sense of joy and love experienced on a day such as this. It's called 'To My Friend':
I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done to make me good, and more than any fate could have done to make me happy. You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign. You have done it by being yourself. Perhaps, after all, that's what being a friend means.
Expression of Intent
I now have a question for each of you.
_______you have chosen ________ to be your life partner. Will you love and respect her/him? Will you be honest with her/him always and will you stand by her through whatever may come? (Answer: "I will")
_______, you have chosen ________ to be your life partner. Will you love and respect her/him? Will you be honest with her/him always and will you stand by her through whatever may come? (Answer: "I will")
And do you both promise to make the necessary adjustments in your personal lives in order that you may live in a harmonious relationship together? (Answer: "We do")
The Exchange of vows
________ and ________, we now come to your vows. May I remind you that saying your vows are one thing but nothing is more challenging than living them day-by-day. What you promise today must be renewed tomorrow and each day that stretches out before you. Will you now please turn and face each other and hold hands, looking at each other.
<Choose your vows that you want to say to each other, if any.
